First time going to this establishment. Ive been to other Korean BBQ restaurants over time. I was extremely impressed by the level of cleanliness and attention to a tidy and organized dining spot. I had a very pleasant, experienced, and professional server that knew all aspects of her job very well. The food was all very fresh and very flavor packed. The portions were perfect per serving. The music was the right volume and not distracting. There was no heavy smoke looming in the air. No annoying noise from exhaust fans to drown out table-side conversations. And most notably, very competitive and reasonable prices. A convenient location that is easily accessed. I was impressed from the point of entering until I departed after enjoying a lovely and very filling meal. I will be back !!
I have been doing a Korean bbq food tour of late, and today brought me to Gosu. I would give this place a 4.5 if I could. I caught the tail end of lunch at 2:15pm, they close btw. 2:30pm and 5pm Monday - Thursday. I was the only person in the restaurant and there was one server and he was super attentive. This is a bbq centric place. They recently started the option of shabu shabu. I think this is in response to other combo places opening up around SLC. Bbq or shabu only is $22 and both for $27. For the shabu, a burner is brought to the table. The meat option is one of the best that I have seen for lunch. There did not seem to be a restriction on the kind of cut that is only available for dinner. I tried beef tongue, beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, and garlic lamb. For the shabu, I had the tonkotsu broth and ordered shrimp, beef brisket, beef belly. I like that each is a smaller portion. It allows me a party of one to try a lot of different. The quality of the meat is higher than some other places. There are still pieces that had too much sinew though so I could not give this full marks. The marinade could be a little better also. The tonkotsu broth was flavorful. Limited dipping sauce options. I love that when I ordered the ramen, they are fresh ramen. I would definitely come back here.
Every time I'm visiting Salt Lake City, I always make sure to stop by GOSU. The wide selection of Korean bbq and appetizers just hits the spot every time after a long day of snowboarding at Brighton. They have a great AYCE lunch special that ends at 4pm! With so many options, it's great for large groups because everyone can order exactly what they want. Drinking and sharing a meal with friends and family is huge in Korean culture, the soju and beer selections make it great spot to celebrate a special occasion or even just a casual dinner with friends. The service is always great and I'm always greeted with a warm welcome when I come in. Be back soon!
Absolutely loved our lunch experience! Great food, cool atmosphere! I've looked all over Utah for good Korean food and this is it! Service was excellent! Definitely give this place a try!
The food was very good quality and I enjoyed everything that we ordered. I really liked how all of the plated and utensils were all stainless steel. It had an upscale appearance. The only downside I experienced was that I really prefer to have the individual hotpot vs the family style. That being said all of the competitions restaurants I feel like I have to yell across the table for anyone to hear and Gosu was so relaxing to be able to carry on a normal conversation. I also really liked that the vent was not directly in my line of sight to the person across the table.
